GA61:17-18 – Definição

É importante logo no começo da consideração conquistarmos o sentido originário de definição, do qual a usual ideia de definição não passa de um certo derivativo. Definitio: decisio, determinatio alicuius dicitur, quod tenendum e credendum declaratur, manifestatur et indicatur. A apreensão específica da definição! A definição completa não é meramente seu conteúdo, a frase!

Em seu âmbito de validade, a ideia usual de definição tem seu elemento específico no fato de que, na perspectiva da propensão de apreensão, central em tais âmbitos, ela determina própria e seguramente o objeto; que se podem acrescentar até outros casos ilustrativos mais, mas que de princípio em nada mais contribuem.

Mas esse momento não pertence a toda definição; sim, existem precisamente aquelas definições que dão o objeto de forma indeterminada, e quiçá de tal forma justamente a realização compreensiva dessa definição toda própria leva [26] à possibilidade correta de determinação. São definições, as únicas que podem introduzir a determinação adequada plena; mas, na medida em que devem fornecer o primeiro impulso – se nos é permitido empregar uma imagem intempestiva –, direção, força de equipe e munição devem ser preparadas de modo correspondente, e o posicionamento do objeto deve ser anunciado de modo correspondente.

It is important, right at the beginning of our consideration, to grasp the original sense of definition  , from which the usual idea   of definition is but a particular derivative. Definitio: decisio, determinatio alicuius dicitur, quod tenendum et credendum declaratur, manifestatur et indicatur ["Definition is said to be a decision about or a determination of something, which determination is declared, manifested, and indicated as having to be held   and believed."] The genuine bearing of the definition! The full definition is not   merely its content, the proposition!

Within its own realm of validity, the usual idea of definition has this peculiarity that, with respect to the normative way of grasping things in such a realm, the definition determines the object properly and securely. And although we can indeed always add illustrating cases, these contribute nothing fundamental.

This moment, however, does not pertain to every definition; indeed, there are definitions which present the object indeterminately, though in such a way that the actualization of the understanding of the particular definition leads to correct possibilities of more precise determination. There are definitions which merely introduce the concomitant full determination. They do provide a first impetus, but — if a misplaced image be allowed — alignment and troop strength must still be surveyed, munitions prepared, and the position of the object reconnoitered. Es ist wichtig, gleich   zu Beginn   der Betrachtung   den ursprünglichen Sinn   von Definition zu gewinnen, von dem die übliche Definitionsidee nur eine bestimmte Abkunft ist. Definitio: decisio, determinatio alicuius dicitur, quod tenendum et credendum declaratur, manifestatur et indicatur. Das spezifische Ergreifen   der Definition! Die volle Definition ist nicht   bloß ihr Gehalt  , der Satz  !

Die übliche Definitionsidee hat in ihrem Geltungsbereich das Eigentümliche, daß   sie, in Hinsicht   auf   die in solchen Bereichen leitende Erfassungstendenz, den Gegenstand   eigentlich   und sicher bestimmt; daß man zwar noch mehr illustrierende Fälle beibringen   kann, die aber prinzipiell nichts mehr beitragen.

Dieses Moment gehört aber nicht zu jeder Definition; ja es gibt   gerade solche, die den Gegenstand unbestimmt geben, so zwar, daß gerade der Verstehens Vollzug   dieser eigentümlichen Definition zur rechten Bestimmungsmöglichkeit führt. Es sind [18] Definitionen, die die zugehörige volle Bestimmung   erst einleiten; sofern sie aber den ersten Vorstoß zu geben haben  , muß -wenn das unzeitgemäße Bild   erlaubt ist — Richtung  , Mannschaftsstärke, Munition entsprechend vorbereitet und die Stellung   des Gegenstandes entsprechend erkundet sein  .
