GA40:87 – "ser", um vapor indeterminado

Frente ao fato de nos ser o significado da palavra, "ser", um vapor indeterminado, está esse outro fato de o sempre entendermos e distinguirmos com certeza do não-ser. Mas esse último não é um segundo fato. Constituem ambos entre si uma única unidade. Essa unidade perdeu para nós o caráter de fato. Não a encontramos absolutamente entre outras coisas dadas objetivamente [vorhanden  ], como algo também dado objetivamente [vorhanden]. Pressentimos, ao contrário, que algo acontece com o que, até agora, só temos apreendido, como um fato. E acontece de uma maneira, que exorbita do âmbito de qualquer outra ocorrência [Vorkommnis  ].

The fact that for us the meaning of the word “Being” remains an indeterminate vapor is counterbalanced by the fact that we [86] still understand Being, and distinguish it with certainty from not  -Being — and this is not just another, second fact, but both belong together as one. In the meantime, this One has completely lost the character of a fact for us. By no means do we find it among many other present-at-hand things, as something that is also present at hand. Instead, we suspect that in what we have taken up to now merely as a fact, there is something going on. It is happening in a way that does not fit into the series of other “incidents.”

Par rapport au fait que le mot « être » reste pour nous, quant au sens, une sorte de vapeur vague, le fait que, par ailleurs, nous comprenions le mot « être », et le distinguions avec certitude de « non-être », n’est pas seulement un autre fait, un deuxième fait, mais tous deux sont liés étroitement et forment un tout. Ce tout unique a perdu absolument pour nous son caractère de fait au cours de notre exposé. Nous ne le rencontrons nullement, parmi la multiplicité du « subsistant », comme quelque chose, aussi, de subsistant. Au lieu de cela nous soupçonnons que, dans ce que nous n’avons jusque-là saisi que comme un fait, quelque chose va son chemin. La façon dont cela se passe sort du cours ordinaire des choses.

Gegenüber der Tatsache, daß   uns das Wort   »Sein  « bedeutungsmäßig ein unbestimmter Dunst bleibt, ist die Tatsache, daß wir andererseits Sein verstehen   und es gegen Nichtsein   sicher unterscheiden, nicht nur eine andere   zweite Tatsache, sondern beide gehören   in Eins zusammen  . Dieses Eine hat für uns inzwischen   überhaupt den Charakter einer Tatsache verloren. Wir finden es keinesfalls unter vielem anderen Vorhandenen als auch vorhanden vor. Statt dessen ahnen wir, daß in dem, was wir bisher nur wie eine Tatsache auf   gegriffen haben  , etwas vorsichgeht. Es geschieht in einer Weise  , die aus der Reihe sonstiger »Vorkommnisse« herausfällt.
