GA18:299-300 – δύναμις

[…] Il termine δύναμις   non ha il senso del «possibile», ossia di ciò che, in genere, prima o poi ci può essere. La δύναμις è già la determinazione di un ἐντελεχείᾳ ὄν  , di un ente che «ci» è già. Un albero che sta nel bosco è ἐντελεχείᾳ, è per me lì attualmente presente in quanto albero. Oppure può esserci anche come albero abbattuto, tronco, che a sua volta può farmisi incontro nel carattere dell’«utilizzabilità per…», della disponibilità per la costruzione di una nave. Il tronco ha il carattere dell’essere utile a…, dell’essere utilizzabile per…, non perché io lo concepisca anzitutto così, ma perché è questo il modo del suo essere. Il tronco mi si fa incontro in questo modo: non è mero legno, non è soltanto una cosa chiamata legno. L’ente che «ci» è nel mondo circostante ha il carattere del συμϕέρον, rinvia a qualcosa. Tale carattere dell’«essere rinviante» nel senso dell’«essere utile a…» determina questo ente che «ci» è, questo tronco che è lì davanti, in quanto ἐντελεχείᾳ e, simultaneamente, in quanto δυνάμει. L’essere-δυνάμει è una determinazione positiva del modo del suo «Ci». Da molto tempo sono solito definire «significatività» questo carattere ontologico dell’esserci. Tale carattere ontologico è il carattere primario in cui il mondo mi si fa incontro.

[…] Δύναμις does not   have the sense of the ‘possible’: that which at some time can be there at all. Δύναμις is already the determination of an ἐντελεχείᾳ ὄν, that is, of a being-that-is-there already. A tree that stands in the forest is ἐντελεχείᾳ, present there for me as a tree. Or it can also be there as fallen   tree, tree trunk. This tree trunk can be encountered by me in the character of serviceability for . . . , of availability for shipbuilding. The tree trunk has the character of being-serviceable for . . . , of usability for . . . , not in such a way that I thus apprehend it as first, but rather it is the mode of its being. It is encountered such that it is not mere wood, as a thing called wood. The being that is there in the surrounding world has the character of συμφέρον; it refers to something. This character of being-referring in the sense of being-serviceable for . . . determines this being that is there, this trunk, that is there ἐντελεχείᾳ and together with it as δυνάμει. Δυνάμει-being is a positive   determination of the mode of its there. For a long time, I have been designating this being-character of being-there as meaningfulness. This being-character is the primary one in which the world is encountered.

[…] Δύναμις hat nicht   den Sinn   des „möglich‟: was überhaupt einmal da sein   kann. Δύναμις ist schon die Bestimmung   eines έντελεχεία ὄν, d. h. eines schon Daseienden. Ein Baum, der im Walde steht, ist έντελεχεία, für mich gegenwärtig da als Baum. Oder er kann auch da sein als gefällter Baum, Baumstamm. Dieser Baumstamm kann mir begegnen   im Charakter der Dienbarkeit zu …, der Verfügbarkeit für einen Schiffsbau. Der Baumstamm hat den Charakter des Dienlichseins zu …, der Verwendbarkeit   zu …, nicht so, daß   ich   ihn erst so auffasse, sondern es ist die Weise   seines Seins. Er begegnet so, ist nicht bloßes Holz, als ein Ding  , genannt Holz. Das Daseiende der Umwelt   hat den Charakter des συμφέρον, es verweist auf   etwas. Dieser Charakter des Verweisendseins im Sinne des Dienlichseins zu … bestimmt dieses Daseiende, diesen Stamm, der da ist έντελεχεία und in eins damit als δυνάμει. Das δυνάμει-Sein ist eine positive Bestimmung der Weise seines Da. Ich pflege seit langem diesen Seinscharakter des Daseins als Bedeutsamkeit zu bezeichnen. Dieser Seinscharakter ist das Primäre, in dem die Welt begegnet.
