The being which is in itself is present ἐξ ἀνάγκης (Met. 1026b28), “necessarily,” and ἀιεί (1026b30), “constantly.” “Necessity” here means: cannot be otherwise. There are beings which are constantly, always, and necessarily what they are. In addition, there are beings which indeed are not   absolutely always what they are, but are so for the most part (as a rule). [GA22  ]
