1. Both ‘Raum-geben’ (our ‘giving space’) and ‘Einräumen’ (our ‘making room’) are often used in the metaphorical sense of ‘yielding’, ‘granting’, or ‘making concessions’. ‘Einräumen’ may also be used for ‘arranging’ furniture, ‘moving it in’, or ‘stowing it away’. [BTMR]
