Let us further recall that this entity which we call Dasein, thus designating it more appropriately by a pure expression of being, is the entity which I myself am in any given time. Belonging to this being, called Dasein, is the temporal particularity of an I which is this being. When we ask about this entity, the Dasein, we must at least ask, Who is this entity?, and not, What is this entity? It is therefore a matter of defining the who of this being. With this formulation, we have first of all at least terminologically avoided the danger of understanding it as a thing which is on hand. The word ‘I,’ in the meaning in which we first immediately understand it in an average way, is thereby left undefined. The more open we leave this word, not relating it directly to a ‘subject’ and the like, the less burdened the term remains and the more opportunity we then have to fix it more rigorously by way of the phenomena themselves. The answer to the question of the who of this entity, which we ourselves in each instance are, is Dasein. (p. 236-237)
Por otro lado, hay que recordar que ese ente que llamamos Dasein, y, así, con esa expresión del puro ser, de manera más afortunada, lo soy siempre yo. Es inherente a ese ser -Dasein- la ocasionalidad de un yo que es ese ser. Así pues, si queremos informarnos acerca de ese ente, del Dasein, habrá que preguntar por lo menos quién es ese ente y no qué es ese ente. Es decir, se trata de determinar el quién de ese ser. Mediante esta formulación evitamos, al menos terminológicamente, el peligro de entender que nos estamos refiriendo a algo del estilo de una cosa que esta ahí. Con todo, el significado de la expresión «yo» queda indeterminado, tal como suele entenderse en principio de modo inmediato en el uso normal. Cuanto más abierto se deje el significado del término «yo», sin remitirlo directamente a un «sujeto» o a algo similar, tanto más libre de cargas quedará el término, de manera que luego tanto mayor será la posibilidad de ajustarlo de modo más exacto al fenómeno. La respuesta a la pregunta por el quién de ese ente que somos siempre nosotros mismos se llama Dasein. (p. 296)
Ferner sei daran erinnert, daß dieses Seiende, das wir Dasein nennen, also mit einem reinen Seinsausdruck angemessener bezeichnen, jeweils ich selbst bin. Zu diesem Sein – Dasein – gehört die Jeiveiligkeit eines Ich, das dieses Sein ist. (326) Wenn diesem Seienden, dem Dasein, nachgefragt wird, so ist mindestens zu fragen: Wer ist dieses Seiende? und nicht: Was ist dieses Seiende? Das Wer dieses Seins gilt es daher zu bestimmen. Mit dieser Formulierung sind wir mindestens terminologisch zunächst der Gefahr entronnen, darunter so etwas wie ein Ding, das vorhanden ist, zu verstehen. Dabei bleibt der Ausdruck »Ich« in der Bedeutung, wie wir ihn durchschnittlich und zunächst unmittelbar verstehen, unbestimmt. Je offener wir diesen Ausdruck »Ich« lassen, ihn nicht auf ein »Subjekt« und dergleichen direkt beziehen, um so unbelasteter bleibt der Terminus, und um so mehr haben wir nachher die Möglichkeit, ihn aus den Phänomenen selbst genauer zu fixieren. Die Antwort auf die Frage nach dem Wer dieses Seienden, das wir selbst je sind, heißt Dasein. (p. 325-326)
