The task of the ontological analytic of Dasein (as Heidegger puts it in that introduction) is to free up or lay open (freilegen) the horizon for an interpretation of the sense of being as such. The implication is that the horizon has been obscured and then forgotten (hence, too, the other task of dismantling the history of ontology). (BD3BT)
