A desconstrução heideggeriana (Abbau - o termo só se tornou uma palavra de ordem uma vez traduzido para o francês, cinquenta anos depois de ter sido cunhado) das constelações históricas da presença mostra que se pode falar da unidade fechada da época metafísica pelo menos em um aspecto: a preocupação em derivar uma filosofia prática de uma filosofia primeira. ‘Metafísica’ é então o título desse conjunto de esforços especulativos com vista a um modelo, um cânone, um principium para a ação. À luz da desconstrução, esse conjunto surge como um campo fechado. A hipótese do fechamento do campo metafísico é o ponto de partida para tudo o que se seguirá. Esta hipótese funciona duplamente (embora a oposição entre sistema e história acabe por ser vítima desta mesma hipótese): é um encerramento sistemático, na medida em que as normas de ação formalmente "procedem de" as primeiras filosofias correspondentes; e é um fechamento histórico, uma vez que o discurso desconstrucionista só pode surgir da fronteira da época sobre a qual é exercido. A hipótese de fechamento determina a desconstrução a cada etapa de seu andamento. Ela confere sua ambiguidade ao empreendimento heideggeriano: ainda encerrado na problemática da presença, mas já fora do feudo onde a presença funciona como presença constante, como identidade de si com si, como fundamento inabalável.

The Heideggerian deconstruction (Abbau—the term only turned into a catchword once translated into French, fifty years after it [[termos:w:was:start|Was]] coined) of the historical constellations of presencing shows that one can speak of the closed unity of the metaphysical epoch at least in one respect: the concern with deriving a practical philosophy from a first philosophy. ‘Metaphysics’ is then the title for that ensemble of speculative efforts with a view to a model, a canon, a principium for action. In the light of the deconstruction, that ensemble appears as a closed field. The [[termos:h:hypothesis-hlex:start|hypothesis]] of the closure of the metaphysical field is the point of departure for everything that will follow. This hypothesis functions doubly (even though the opposition between [[termos:s:system:start|System]] and history will eventually fall victim to that same hypothesis): it is a systematic closure, inasmuch as the norms for action formally ‘proceed from’ the corresponding first philosophies; and it is a historical closure, since the deconstructionist discourse can arise only from the boundary of the era over which it is exercised. The hypothesis of closure determines the deconstruction at each step of its progress. It confers its ambiguity on the Heideggerian enterprise: still enclosed in the problematic of presence, but already outside the fief where presencing functions as constant presence, as identity of self with self, as unshakable ground.
