Traum

Traum, sonho, dream, sueño, songe

Often, dreams are to us mere dreams and so mere “shadows.” In their inconsistent fleetingness and their almost arbitrary character, they fall without connection and without definition into the firm and consistent world which we call the “real” world, the world of waking experience. We consider dreams to be unreal, something that we only dream about. What has a dreamlike character is measured against the real, as if we knew with unquestionable certainty what reality is.
