Há no Dasein uma constante “não-totalidade” indelével até que com a morte encontra seu final. Mas esse dado-de-fato fenomênico que pertence ao Dasein enquanto ele é, esse ainda-não, pode ser interpretado como faltante? A que ente nos referimos ao falar de faltante? A expressão significa o que “pertence” certamente a um ente, mas que ainda lhe falta. O faltar como falha se funda numa pertinência. Por exemplo, falta o restante de uma dívida que ainda não foi paga. O faltante ainda não está disponível. A extinção da “dívida” como eliminação do faltante significa o “ingresso”, isto é, a entrada subsequente (669) do restante, pela qual o ainda-não é como que preenchido até que a soma devida seja “completada”. Faltar significa por isso: o ainda-não-estar-junto-daquilo-a-que-se-deveria-estar-junto. Ontologicamente, nisso reside a não-utilizabilidade de partes que-deveriam-estar junto das que já são utilizáveis, as quais têm, por sua vez, o mesmo modo-de-ser que elas e não se modificam em seu modo-de-ser pelo ingresso do restante. O não-todo subsistente é eliminado por um amontoar das partes. O ente no qual há ainda algo faltante tem o modo-de-ser do utilizável. O estar-junto, ou não estar-junto que nele se funda, nós o caracterizamos como soma.

Porém esse não estar-junto pertencente àquele Modus do estar-junto, o faltar como faltante, não pode de modo algum determinar ontologicamente o ainda-não que pertence ao Dasein enquanto morte possível. Este ente não tem em geral o modo-de-ser de um utilizável do interior-do-mundo. O estar-junto do ente que o Dasein é “no seu curso”, isto é, até que tenha completado “seu curso”, não é constituído por um juntar “sucessivo” de partes de ente que já é utilizável por si e em algum lugar. O Dasein não começa a ser quando seu ainda-não é preenchido, momento em que ele, ao contrário, precisamente já não é. O Dasein existe precisamente sempre cada vez já de tal maneira que seu ainda-não lhe pertence. (p. 669, 671)

Hay en el Dasein una permanente “no-integridad”, imposible de abolir, que encuentra su fin con la muerte. Pero, la circunstancia fenoménica de que al Dasein, mientras está siendo, le “pertenece” este no-todavía, ¿puede interpretarse como resto pendiente? ¿A qué tipo de ente nos referimos cuando hablamos de resto pendiente?

La expresión apunta a lo que, si bien le “pertenece” a un ente, sin embargo, aún le falta. El estar pendiente, en tanto que faltar, se funda en la pertenencia de una cosa a otra (Zugehörigkeit). Está pendiente, por ejemplo, el saldo de una deuda. Lo pendiente no es aún disponible. La cancelación de la “deuda”, como liquidación del saldo, significa el “ingreso” o sucesivo añadirse del resto, por cuyo medio el no-todavía, por así decirlo, se va llenando, hasta que la suma adeudada esté “junta”. Estar pendiente quiere decir, por consiguiente, el no-estar-todavía-junto de lo que debiera estar junto. Ontológicamente tenemos aquí el no estar a la mano de ciertas partes que habría que reunir a las que ya están a la mano y que tienen el mismo modo de ser que éstas, las que, a su vez, no sufren modificación en su modo de ser por el ingreso de las restantes. La no-totalidad vigente se suprime por la reunión acumuladora de las partes. El ente en el que hay todavía algo pendiente tiene el modo de ser de lo a la mano. El estar-junto o, correlativamente, el no-estar-junto fundado en aquél, lo caracterizamos nosotros como suma.

Pero este no-estar-junto que pertenece a aquella modalidad del estar-junto, el faltar, en tanto que resto pendiente, no sirve en modo alguno para caracterizar ontológicamente el no-todavía que, como muerte posible, forma parte del Dasein.

En efecto, este ente no tiene en absoluto el modo de ser de un ente a la mano dentro del mundo. El estar el ente junto, como lo está el Dasein “en su transcurso” hasta haber consumado “su carrera”, no se constituye mediante una “sucesiva” acumulación de entes ya de suyo de alguna manera y en alguna parte a la mano. El Dasein no llega a estar junto cuando colma su no-todavía, sino que entonces precisamente no es más. El Dasein ya existe siempre precisamente de tal manera que cada vez incluye su no-todavía. (p. 263)

Il y a dans le Dasein une « non-entièreté » constante qui trouve sa fin dans la mort, c’est indéniable. Mais la donnée phénoménale, le fait que ce pas-encore « appartient » au Dasein aussi longtemps qu’il est, est-il possible de l’interpréter comme restant en attente? A quel étant nous référons-nous en parlant de rester en attente? L’expression désigne ce qui « appartient » sans doute à un étant mais qui lui manque encore. Rester en attente, quand il s’agit d’un manque à combler, se fonde sur une appartenance. Reste dû, par exemple, le reliquat de paiement d’une dette tant qu’il est encore à percevoir. Ce restant n’est pas encore disponible. L’amortissement de la « dette », au sens de la liquidation du restant, équivaut à la « rentrée », c’est-à-dire l’arrivée du reliquat par versements successifs grâce auxquels le pas-encore se garnit, pour ainsi dire, jusqu’à ce qu’ait été « réunie » la somme due. Rester en attente signifie par conséquent : n’être-pas-encore-réuni à l’ensemble dont on fait partie. Ce qui implique ontologiquement que les pièces de l’ensemble qui sont encore en souffrance soient non utilisables, alors qu’elles ont le même genre d’être que celles qui sont déjà utilisables et qui ne changent pas de genre d’être à la rentrée du reliquat. L’élément à part de l’ensemble s’annule progressivement au fur et à mesure que les pièces se réunissent à l’ensemble. L’étant auquel il reste encore quelque chose à restituer a le genre d’être de l’utilisable. L’ensemble, qu’il soit ou non dissocié, nous le caractérisons comme somme.

Mais cet élément dissocié qui relève ainsi de ce mode de l’ensemble, le manque à titre de restant, ne permet aucunement de déterminer ontologiquement le pas-encore qui, comme mort possible, appartient au Dasein . Cet étant n’a pas du tout le genre d’être d’un utilisable (296) intérieur au monde. L’ensemble d’étant selon lequel le Dasein est « sur le parcours » en attendant qu’il ait achevé « son cours » ne se constitue pas en assemblant « continuellement », pièce à pièce, de l’étant qui est de lui-même, en quelque manière et quelque part, déjà utilisable. Le Dasein n 'est pas un ensemble à partir du moment où son pas-encore s’est accumulé en totalité; il est si loin de l’être qu’à ce moment précis, justement, il n’est plus. Le Dasein existe chaque fois déjà de cette manière où toujours son pas-encore en fait partie. (p. 296-297)

In Dasein there is undeniably a constant ‘lack of totality’ which finds an end with death. This “Not-yet” ‘belongs’ to Dasein as long as it is; this is how things Stand phenomenally. Is this to be Interpreted as still outstanding? With relation to what entities do we talk about that which is still outstanding? When we use this expression we have in view that which indeed ‘belongs’ to an entity, but is still missing. Outstanding, as a way of being missing, is grounded upon a belonging-to. For instance, the remainder yet to be received when a debt is to be balanced off, is still outstanding. That which is still outstanding is not yet at one’s disposal. When the ‘debt’ gets paid off, that which is still outstanding gets liquidated; this signifies that the money ‘comes in’, or, in other words, that the remainder comes successively along. By this procedure the “not-yet” gets filled up, as it were, until the sum that is owed is “all together”. Therefore, to be still outstanding means that what belongs together is not yet all together. Ontologically, this implies the un-readiness-to-Hand of those portions which have yet to be contributed. These portions have the same kind of Being as those which are ready-to-hand already; and the latter, for their part, do not have their kind of Being modified by having the remainder come in. Whatever “lack-of-togetherness” remains (Das bestehende Unzusammen) gets “paid off’ by a cumulative piecing-together. Entities for which anything is still outstanding have the kind of Being of something ready-to-hand. The togetherness (Das Zusammen) is characterized as a “sum”, and so is that lack-of-togetherness which is founded upon it.

But this lack-of-togetherness which belongs to such a mode of togetherness [SZ:243] — this being-missing as still-outstanding — cannot by any means define ontologically that “not-yet” which belongs to Dasein as its possible death. Dasein does not have at all the kind of Being of something ready-to-hand-within-the-world. The togetherness of an entity of the kind which Dasein is ‘in running its course’ until that ‘course’ has been completed, is not constituted by a ‘continuing’ piecing-on of entities which, somehow and somewhere, are ready-to-hand already in their own right.

That Dasein should be together only when its “not-yet” has been filled up is so far from the case that it is precisely then that Dasein is no longer. Any Dasein always exists in just such a manner that its “not-yet” belongs to it. (p. 286-287)

Am Dasein ist eine Ständige »Unganzheit«, die mit dem Tod ihr Ende findet, undurchstreichbar. Aber darf der phänomenale Tatbestand, daß zum Dasein, solange es ist, dieses noch-nicht »gehört«, als Ausstand interpretiert Werden? Mit Bezug auf welches Seiende Reden Wir von Ausstand? Der Ausdruck meint das, Was zu einem Seienden zwar »gehört«, aber noch fehlt. Ausstehen als Fehlen gründet in einer Zugehörigkeit. Aussteht zum Beispiel der Rest einer noch zu empfangenden Schuldbegleichung. Das Ausstehende ist noch Nicht verfügbar. Tilgung der »Schuld« als Behebung des Ausstandes bedeutet das »Eingehen«, das ist Nach-einanderankommen des Restes, wodurch das Noch-nicht gleichsam aufgefüllt wird, bis die geschuldete Summe »Beisammen« ist. Ausstehen meint deshalb: Nochnichtbeisammensein des Zusammengehörigen. ontologisch liegt darin die Unzuhandenheit von beizubringenden Stücken, die von der gleichen Seinsart sind Wie die schon zuhandenen, die ihrerseits durch das Eingehen des Restes ihre Seinsart nicht modifizieren. Das bestehende Unzu-sammen wird durch eine anhäufende Zusammenstückung getilgt. Das Seiende, an dem noch etwas aussteht, hat die Seinsart des Zuhandenen. Das zusammen, bzw. das darin fundierte Unzusammen charakterisieren wir als Summe.

(243) Dies einem solchen Modus des Zusammen zugehörige Unzusammen, das Fehlen als Ausstand, vermag aber keineswegs das Noch-nicht ontologisch zu bestimmen, das als möglicher Tod zum Dasein gehört. Dieses Seiende hat überhaupt nicht die Seinsart eines innerweltlich Zuhandenen. Das Zusammen des Seienden, als welches das Dasein »in seinem Verlauf« ist, bis es »seinen Lauf« vollendet hat, konstituiert sich nicht durch eine »fortlaufende« Anstückung von Seiendem, das von ihm Selbst her schon irgendwie und -wo Zuhanden ist. Das Dasein ist nicht erst zusammen, wenn Sein Noch-nicht sich aufgefüllt hat, so wenig, daß es dann gerade nicht mehr ist. Das Dasein existiert je schon immer gerade so, daß zu ihm sein Noch-nicht gehört. (p. 242-243)
