Se entendermos “fenomenologia” e “fenomenológico” como títulos para um método da filosofia e reconhecermos como tarefa fundamental da filosofia o projeto do ente como próprio do ser, isto é, como ontologia, então a justaposição dos dois títulos “o caráter fundamental do método de pesquisa científico-natural” (pp. 8-20) e o “caráter fundamental do método fenomenológico” (pp. 249-261) está de antemão distorcida e induz a erro. Trata-se, em ambos casos, de um procedimento da medicina como ciência de um ente, ou seja, do homem. O método de pesquisa “inteiramente diferente'' da pesquisa científico-natural não é filosófico, on-tológico; ele se refere ao ente humano em seus estados que são assim e assim de maneira idêntica à científico-natural (ver p. 250: “a extraordinária multiplicidade dos modos de relacionamento..."). O título “fenomenológico” é então usado em sentido ôntico, assim como o título “fenômeno", isto é, “o ente que se mostra, respectivamente, assim e assim", isto é que na medicina é examinado e tratado. Mas a pergunta decisiva é: à luz de qual ser este ente (o homem) é experienciado? O título da p. 249 fala de uma “Antropologia conforme o Dasein".

A medicina seria então uma Antropologia ou baseia-se necessariamente numa Antropologia? Se for este o caso, o que significa então “conforme o Dasein"? Depois disto, a expressão só pode significar: a medicina como ciência ôntica do homem, que é assim ou assim, experiencia este ente assim e assim à luz de um ser-homem, cujo caráter fundamental é determinado ontologicamente como Da-Sein.

Mas com isto o termo “conforme o Dasein” ainda não está suficientemente esclarecido. “Conforme o Dasein” pode significar: todas as afirmações sobre o ser-homem como tal devem dizer respeito ao caráter do Dasein no sentido “dos traços fundamentais do Dasein não perturbado” (pp. 269 e ss.). Estes traços fundamentais caracterizam o ser-homem como Dasein, como ser; são, pois, afirmações ontológicas. Mas “conforme o Dasein” também pode significar: o que é neste sentido de ser (Da-sein), ente assim e assim, o homem sadio e doente é experienciado, observado e tratado, em cada caso isolado, à luz do projeto do ser-homem como Da-sein. Deixar ficar este ente – assim-e-assim-como-Dasein em seu ser-assim só é possível desistindo-se do projeto do ente (no caso do homem) como ser-vivo dotado de razão, como sujeito na relação sujeito-objeto, como ser vivo auto-producente (Marx) e se, antes de tudo, o projeto do ser-homem como Da-sein for realizado e mantido constantemente – apenas à luz deste projeto o ente (homem) pode ser examinado conforme o Dasein.

Exige-se do pesquisador justamente isto, o mais difícil, a passagem do projeto do homem como ente vivo dotado de razão para ser-homem como Dasein. Assim, é absolutamente equivocado que o caminho para o tema do médico pesquisador possa ser "extremamente simples" (p. 250). O deixar-ser do ente (homem) à luz do Da-sein é extremamente difícil e insólito, não somente para o cientista de hoje, mas também para aquele que está familiarizado com o projeto do Da-sein, devendo ser constantemente examinado de novo. O "deixar" (Lassen), isto é, aceitar (Zulassen) o ente, assim como ele se mostra, só se tornará um deixar-ser apropriado se este ser, o Da-sein, ficar antes e constantemente à vista; isto é, quando o próprio pesquisador tiver experienciado e experienciar-se a si mesmo como Da-sein, como ek-sistente e determinar-se toda a realidade humana a partir daí. O eliminar e afastar representações inadequadas sobre este ente, o homem, só é possível se o treino da experiência de ser homem como Da-sein tiver tido êxito e iluminar toda a pesquisa do ser humano sadio e doente.

O deixar-ser imediato do ente só é possível se, e na medida em que, antes e sempre for mediado, isto é, possibilitado e permitido pela com-e-para-execução simultânea do projeto do ser-homem no sentido do Da-sein. Mas o quanto isto é difícil está sendo provado há décadas pela interpretação equivocada do ser-no-mundo como uma ocorrência do ente humano no meio do ente restante em sua totalidade, do "mundo".

As manifestações que aparecem no deixar-ser citado são aquelas do ente humano que é assim e assim, mas não são “fenômenos” no sentido da fenomenologia como ontologia. Estes “fenômenos” (comparar com traços fundamentais) dão a luz que permite ter a visão apropriada do ente humano como Da-sein e então, a partir desta visão, descrever as manifestações correspondentes. O próprio método de pesquisa “conforme o Dasein” não é fenomenológico, mas, sim, depende e é regido pela fenomenologia no sentido da hermenêutica do Da-sein.

O aplicar-se ao deixar-ser do ente humano no sentido do Dasein já pressupõe a aceitação do ser desprotegido no projeto ontológico-fenome-nológico como Dasein.

Os (próprios) fenômenos ontológicos não devem ser “vistos” imediatamente da mesma maneira como as manifestações ônticas. Também estas – cor, peso, etc. – são predeterminadas ontologicamente como “propriedades”. A cor é uma propriedade. Entretanto, ela não é colorida nem pesada, nem espessa nem comprida; não é uma determinação ôntica, mas sim ontológica.

Deixar-ser o ente em seu respectivo ser-assim-e-assim é fundamentalmente diferente de deixar-ser, isto é, permitir o ser como tal, deixá-lo mostrar-se em uma mirada, para deixar mostrar o respectivo ente não temático como o seu ser aguardado pelo que é visto própria e ontologica-mente.

O ser-o-que da mesa é uma determinação ontológica no mesmo sentido como seu estar simplesmente presente. É claro que a relação entre ambos e sua origem não foram esclarecidas há dois milênios e meio, pois nem foram pesquisadas suficientemente. (2001, p. 234-237)

If one understands “phenomenology” and “phenomenological” as tides for a philosophical method, and if one takes as its fundamental task the projection of beings (Entwurf des Seienden) as such toward being (auf das Sein), that is, ontology, then the comparison of the two tides “The Basic Character of the Scientific Research Method” (pp. 8-20) and ‘The Basic Character of the Phenomenological Method of Research” (pp. 259-69) is wrong and misleading from the start. In both cases we are dealing with a procedure of medicine as a science of a being, that is, of the human being. This research method, which is “entirely different” from that of natural science, is Not a philosophical-ontological one. In the same way as the method of natural science, it refers to existing Man in his various conditions (see p. 205): “The immense manifoldness of the ways of comportment....” The tide “phenomenological” is then used in an ontic sense. Similarly, the tide “phenomenon” refers to that particular being showing itself in this or that way. Medicine deals with and investigates this phenomenon. But the decisive question is: In light of what kind of being is this being (the human being) experienced? The title on page 249 speaks of an “anthropology appropriate to Da-sein.” Now, is medicine an anthropology, or does it necessarily rest on one? If the latter is the case, then what does “appropriate to Da-sein” mean? After what has been said, this can only mean that medicine, as an ontic science of this or that human being (as an object), experiences it in the light of being human, whose basic character is ontologically determined as Da-sein.

(GA89 280) But thus the title “appropriate to Da-sein” is still not yet sufficiently clarified. “Appropriate to Da-sein” could mean that all assertions about being human as such must refer to the character of Da-Sein in the sense of “the basic characteristics of the trouble-free Da-sein” (p. 269 ff.). These basic characteristics determine human being as Da-sein, as being. Therefore, they are ontological assertions. But “appropriate to Da-sein” can also mean that the human being in the sense of being (Dasein), whether healthy or sick, is experienced, viewed, and treated in each particular case in the light of the projection of the human being as Da-sein. To let this being exist as Dasein in this or that condition is only possible if we abandon the projection (Entwurf) of the human being as (223) a “rational animal,” as a subject in the subject-object relationship, and as a self-producing animal (Marx). Only if die projection of human being as Da-sein is enacted and constantly sustained beforehand — only in the light of this projection can this being (the human being) be investigated (in a way that is) appropriate to Da-sein.

Just this most difficult task is demanded of the investigator, that is, to make the transition from the projection of the human being as a rational animal to (the projection of) the human being as Da-sein. Therefore, it is not the case at all that the theme the doctor investigates could be “an extremely simple one” (p. 250). The letting-be of this being (the human being) in light of Da-sein is extremely difficult, unfamiliar, and must always be examined anew by contemporary scientists, but also by the one who has already gained familiarity with the projection of Da-sein. The “letting be,” that is, accepting a being as it shows itself, becomes an appropriate letting-be only when this being, the Da-sein, stands constantly in view beforehand. (This can only happen) when the investigator has experienced and continues to experience himself as Da-sein, as ek-sisting, and when all human reality is determined from there. The elimination and avoidance of inappropriate representations about this being, the human being, is only possible when the practice of experiencing being human as Da-sein has been successful and when it is illuminating any investigation (GA89 281) of the healthy or sick human being in advance.

The immediate letting-be (Seinlassen) of beings is possible only then, and as long as, it is mediated each time beforehand, that is, made possible and granted by the enactment and the reenactment of the projection of being human in the sense of Da-sein. But how difficult this is has been demonstrated by decades of misinterpreting being-in-the-world as an (ontic) occurrence of the human being in the midst of other beings as a whole, of the “world.”

The appearances, which showed themselves in the previously mentioned letting-be, are those of the human being in this or that condition, but they are not “phenomena” in the sense of phenomenology as ontology. These “phenomena” (cf. Foundations) provide the light by which we can glimpse the existing human being as Da-sein in the first place, and then guided by this glimpse we can describe the respective appearances. The method of investigation “appropriate to Da-sein” is not phenomenological in itself but is dependent upon and guided by phenomenology in the sense of the hermeneutics (interpretation) of Dasein (Hermeneutik des Daseins).

(224) Engaging oneself (Sicheinlassen) with the letting-be of the existing human being in the sense of Da-sein already presupposes the acceptance (Hinnehmen) of the being as Da-sein, which Was unveiled in the ontological-phenomenological projection.

The ontological (genuine) phenomena cannot be “seen” immediately in the same way as ontic appearances can. These too — color, weight, and so forth — are ontologically determined beforehand as “property.” Color is a quality. Yet, this is neither colored, nor heavy, nor thick, nor long. It (quality) is not an ontic determination, but an ontological one.

The letting-fo (Sein-lassen) of beings in their particular being so and so (So-und-So-Sein) is fundamentally different from letting-be, that is, from allowing being as such (Sein als solches), letting it be shown from a line of sight (Blickrichtung) in which the particular being shows itself unthematically as being granted in its being from what is explicitly seen ontologically.

Versteht man »Phänomenologie« und »phänomenologisch« als Titel für eine Methode der Philosophie und erkennt man als die Grundaufgabe dieser den Entwurf des Seienden als eines solchen auf das Sein, d. h. als Ontologie, dann ist die Gegenüberstellung der beiden Überschriften »Der Grundcharakter der naturwissenschaftlichen Forschungsmethode« (S. 8-20) und »Der Grundcharakter der phänomenologischen Untersuchungsmethode« (S. 249-261) von vornherein schief und irreführend. Der Titel »phänomenologisch« ist dann in einem ontischen Sinne gebraucht, ebenso der Titel »Phänomen«, d. h. »das jeweils so und so sich zeigende Seiende« — dieses wird in der Medizin untersucht und behandelt. Aber die entscheidende Frage ist: im Lichte welchen Seins wird dieses Seiende (der Mensch) erfahren? Der Titel S. 249 spricht von einer »daseinsgemäßen Anthropologie «.

Ist nun die Medizin eine Anthropologie oder beruht sie notwendig auf einer solchen? Wenn dies letztere der Fall ist, was heißt dann »daseinsgemäß«? Dies kann nach dem Vorigen nur heißen: die Medizin als ontische Wissenschaft vom so und so seienden Menschen erfährt dieses So-und-So-Seiende im Lichte eines Menschseins, dessen Grundcharakter ontologisch als Dasein bestimmt ist.

(279) Aber damit ist der Titel »daseinsgemäß« immer noch Nicht zureichend geklärt. »Daseinsgemäß« kann heißen: alle Aussagen über das Menschsein als solches müssen (den) Daseinscharakter betreffen im Sinne »der Grundzüge des ungestörten Daseins« (269 ff.). Diese Grundzüge kennzeichnen das Menschsein als Dasein, als Sein, sind also ontologische Aussagen. »Daseinsgemäß« kann aber auch heißen: Der in diesem Sinne von Sein (Da-sein) seiende, so und so seiende, gesunde und kranke Mensch wird in den jeweils einzelnen Fällen im Lichte des Entwurfs des Menschseins als Da-sein erfahren, betrachtet und behandelt. Dieses So-und-So-als-Dasein-Seiende in seinem So-sein sein-zulassen ist nur möglich, wenn vom Entwurf des Seienden (hier des Menschen) als vernünftiges Lebewesen, als Subjekt in der (/termos/s/subjekt-Objekt-beziehung), als sich Selbst produzierendes Lebewesen (Marx) abgesehen wird und Allem zuvor der Entwurf des Menschseins als Da-sein vollzogen und ständig durchgehalten wird - nur im Lichte dieses Entwurfs kann das Seiende (Mensch) daseins-mäßig untersucht Werden.

Vom Untersucher wird gerade dieses Schwerste verlangt, der Übergang vom Entwurf des Menschen als vernünftigem. Lebewesen zum Menschsein als Dasein. Es trifft somit in keiner Weise zu, daß der Weg zum Thema des untersuchenden Mediziners »ein äußerst einfacher« sein könnte (S. 250). Das sein-lassen des Seienden (Mensch) im Lichte des Da-seins ist für den heutigen Wissenschaftler, aber auch für den, der im Entwurf auf Da-sein heimisch geworden ist, äußerst schwer und ungewohnt und immer neu zu überprüfen. Das »lassen«, d. h. Zulassen des Seienden, so wie es sich zeigt, wird nur dann ein gemäßes «Sein-lassen, wenn zuvor und ständig dieses Sein, das Da-sein, im Blick steht, d. h. wenn der Untersucher selbst sich als Da-sein, als Ek-sistierenden erfahren hat und erfährt und alle menschliche Wirklichkeit von daher sich bestimmt. Das ausschalten und Femhalten ungemäßer Vorstellungen über dieses Seiende, den Menschen, ist nur dann möglich, wenn die Einübung in die Erfahrung des Menschseins als Da-sein geglückt ist und (280) allern Untersuchen des gesunden und kranken Menschen voranleuchtet.

Das unmittelbare Seinlassen des Seienden ist nur dann und nur so lange möglich, als es jederzeit zuvor vermittelt, d. h. ermöglicht und gewährt wird durch den mit- und Nachvollzug des Entwurfes des Menschseins im Sinne des Da-seins. Wie schwer dies aber ist, wird seit Jahrzehnten bezeugt durch die Mißdeutung des In-der-Welt-seins als eines Vorkommens des seienden Menschen inmitten des übrigen Seienden im Ganzen, der »Welt«.

Die in dem genannten Sein-lassen sich zeigenden Erscheinungen sind solche des so und so seienden Menschen, sind aber nicht »Phänomene« im Sinne der Phänomenologie als Ontologie. Diese »Phänomene« (vgl. die Grundzüge) geben das Licht, um überhaupt den seienden Menschen als daseinsmäßigen in den Blick zu bekommen und nun, von diesem Blick geleitet, die jeweiligen Erscheinungen zu beschreiben. Die »daseinsmäßige« Untersuchungsmethode ist selbst nicht phänomenologisch, sondern auf Phänomenologie im Sinne der Hermeneutik des Daseins Eingewiesen und von ihr geleitet.

Das Sicheinlassen auf das Sein-lassen des seienden Menschen im Sinne des Daseins setzt bereits voraus das Hin-nehmen des im ontologisch-phänomenologischen Entwurf entborgenen Seins als Da-sein.

Die ontologischen (eigentlichen) Phänomene sind nicht in der gleichen Weise unmittelbar zu »sehen« wie die ontischen Erscheinungen. Auch diese — Farbe, Gewicht usf. — sind ontologisch vorbestimmt als »Eigenschaft«. Farbe ist eine Beschaffenheit; diese jedoch ist weder farbig noch schwer, noch dick oder lang; ist keine ontische Bestimmung, sondern eine ontologische.

Sein-lassen das Seiende in seinem jeweiligen So-und-So-Sein ist grundverschieden vom Sein-lassen, d. h. Sein als solches zulassen, sich zeigen lassen in einer Blickrichtung, für die das jeweilige Seiende unthematisch sich zeigt als in seinem Sein gewährt von dem eigens ontologisch Erblickten.

(281) Das Wassein des Tisches ist im selben Sinne eine ontologische Bestimmung wie sein Vorhandensein. Freilich ist das Verhältnis beider und ihre Herkunft seit zweieinhalb Jahrtausenden ungeklärt, weil überhaupt nicht zureichend erfragt. (p. 278-281)
