Em qualquer modo, em que o destino do desencobrimento exerça seu vigor, o desencobrimento, em que tudo é e mostra-se cada vez traz sempre consigo o perigo de o homem equivocar-se com o desencobrimento e o interpretar mal. Assim, quando todo o real se apresenta à luz do nexo de causa e efeito, até Deus pode perder, nesta representação, toda santidade e grandeza, o mistério de sua transcendência e majestade. À luz da causalidade, Deus pode degradar-se a ser uma causa, a causa efficiens. Ele se torna, então, até na teologia, o Deus dos filósofos, daqueles que medem o des-encoberto e o coberto de acordo com a causalidade do fazer, sem pensar de onde provém a essência da causalidade. In whatever way the destining of revealing may hold sway, the unconcealment in which everything that is shows itself at any given time harbors the danger that Man may quail at the unconcealed and may misinterpret it. Thus where everything that presences exhibits itself in the light of a cause-effect coherence, even God can, for representational thinking, lose all that is exalted and holy, the mysteriousness of his distance. In the light of causality, God can sink to the level of a cause, of causa efficiens. De quelque manière que le destin du dévoilement exerce sa puissance, la non-occultation, dans laquelle se montre chaque fois ce qui est, recèle le danger que l’homme se trompe au sujet du non-caché et qu’il l’interprète mal. Ainsi, là où toute chose présente apparaît dans la lumière de la connexion cause-effet, Dieu lui-même peut perdre, dans la représentation (que nous nous faisons de lui), tout ce qu’il a de saint et de sublime, tout ce que son éloignement a de mystérieux. So kann, wo alles Anwesende sich im Lichte des Ursache-Wirkung-Zusammenhangs darstellt, sogar Gott für das vorstellen alles Heilige und Hohe, das Geheimnisvolle seiner Ferne verlieren. Gott kann im Lichte der Kausalität zu einer Ursache, zur causa efficiens, herabsinken. Er wird dann sogar innerhalb der Theologie zum Gott der Philosophen, jener nämlich, die das Unverborgene und Verborgene nach der Kausalität des Mächens bestimmen, ohne dabei jemals die Wesensherkunft dieser Kausalität zu bedenken.
