Antes de Aristóteles enumerar os modos do ἀληθεύειν ([[lx>termos:a:aletheuein|aletheuein]]; des-velamento), ele diz: ἀληθεύει ἡ ψυχή (a alma desvela). Portanto, com efeito, no sentido propriamente dito, a verdade é de qualquer modo uma determinação do ser do próprio ser-aí humano. Pois todo esforço do ser-aí em torno do conhecimento precisa se impor contra o encobrimento do ente, um encobrimento que é de três tipos: 1. Ignorância; 2. Opinião dominante; 3. Erro. É o ser-aí humano, com isso, que é propriamente verdadeiro. Ele é na verdade — se traduzirmos ἀλήθεια ([[lx>termos:a:aletheia|aletheia]]; desvelamento) por verdade. Ser verdadeiro, ser-na-verdade, como determinação do ser-aí significa: ter o respectivamente ente, com o qual o ser-aí costuma lidar, à disposição de maneira não encoberta. Aquilo que em Aristóteles é apreendido de maneira mais aguda já tinha sido visto por Platão: ἡ επ ἀλήθειαν ορμωμένη ψυχή (cf. Sofista 228c lss.), a alma se coloca por si mesma a caminho da verdade, do ente, na medida em que ele se acha desencoberto. Por outro lado, diz-se dos οἱ πολλοί (dos muitos): των πραγμάτων της ἀλήθεια άφεστωτας (as coisas lhes permanecem estranhas). A partir daí vemos que encontraremos em Platão a mesma orientação que em Aristóteles. Precisamos pressupor neles uma posição una em relação às questões fundamentais do ser-aí. Portanto, a alma, o ser do homem, considerada rigorosamente, é aquilo que é na verdade. [GA19MAC:23]

Before Aristotle enumerated the modes of ἀληθεύειν, he said: ἀληθεύει ἡ ψυχή. truth is hence a character of beings, insofar as they are encountered; but in an authentic sense it is nevertheless a determination of the Being of human Dasein itself. For all of Dasein's strivings toward knowledge must maintain themselves against the concealedness of beings, which is of a threefold character: 1.) ignorance, 2.) prevailing opinion, 3.) error. Hence it is human Dasein that is properly true; it is in the truth — if we do translate ἀλήθεια as “truth.” To be true, to be in the truth, as a determination of Dasein, means: to have at its disposal, as unconcealed, the beings with which Dasein cultivates an association. What Aristotle conceives in a more precise way Was already seen by Plato: ἡ έπ’ ἀλήθειαν όρμωμένη ψυχή (cf. Sophist 228c1f.), the soul sets itself by itself on the way toward truth, toward beings insofar as they are unconcealed. On the other Hand, it is said of the οἱ πολλοί: των πραγμάτων της ἀληθείας άφεστώτας (Sophist 234c4f.), “they are still far from the unconcealedness of things.” We see thereby that we will find in Plato the same orientation as Aristotle's. We have to presuppose in them one and the same position with regard to the basic questions of Dasein. Hence the soul, the Being of Man, is, taken strictly, what is in the truth. [GA19RS:16]
